A 26-year-old UNEB invigilator from Vision Senior Secondary School in Kisinga Sub-County has been arrested by police in Bwera Division, Kasese District, for alleged involvement in malpractice during the ongoing Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams.

Elizabeth Kabugho was arrested on Monday, 21st October 2024, according to SP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson.

SP Tumushime stated that Kabugho was caught with a missing Geography Paper One, which she was photographing with her phone—an action that violates UNEB’s rules and regulations.

Police swiftly responded and arrested the suspect.

“She is currently detained at Bwera Police Station and will soon be arraigned in court. We also caution UNEB officials to avoid involvement in examination malpractice, or they will face the full force of the law,” Tumushime added.
