Speaker Among welcomes Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s appointment as CDF

The Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda, Annet Anita Among, has welcomed the appointment of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF).

Gen. Muhoozi’s appointment was communicated on Thursday evening. He replaces Gen. Wilson Mbadi. Gen. Mbadi was appointed as the State Minister for Trade in the Thursday cabinet reshuffle.

During the launch of Bukedea Teaching Hospital, where President Yoweri Museveni was the chief guest, Among said to the President, “I want to thank you so much for promoting our young brother (Gen. Muhoozi) to become the CDF. For us, we believe in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit. We are still here with you, the Father; when you tell us to move, we shall move to the Son and be guided by the Holy Spirit.”

One of the blocks launched at the facility is named after Gen. Muhoozi.

The president likened Among to a biblical Paul.

“I thank the people of Teso, but I want you to get out of poverty. I will ask for land and establish a model farm to demonstrate how to farm on 4 acres and make money,” said Museveni.
