PMM Girl's Deputy Headteacher Granted Bail

The Grade One Magistrate of Jinja Court, Agnes Musiime, has granted a 500,000 Shillings cash bail to the deputy head teacher of PMM Girls Secondary School, Lydia Mukoda.
Mukoda, alias "Elly Ogwang," is reported to have been involved in lesbianism with Martha Naigaga and others still at large contrary to section 148 of the penal code act.
The two were charged with gross indecency and procuring gross indecency, prompting their remand to Kirinya prisons for the past two months.
Mukoda presented two sureties whop including her father, George Taitika, and her brother, Michael Waiswa.
Mukoda informed the court that both her sureties are substantial and they presented the court with LCI letters confirming their fixed place aboard.
Mukoda also argued that bail is her constitutional right adding that, the law states that all accused persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty, therefore, she can attend court proceedings while commuting from her home.
Mukoda also stated that she is a Ugandan of sound mind, who will respect all the set bail terms so as to ensure the timely dispensation of justice.
The prosecution did not object to Mukoda's request but, rather asked the court for stringent bail terms, which would deter her from interfering with the witnesses.
Musiime tasked Mukoda to refrain herself from accessing the school premises until the case is entirely disposed of.
Musiime adjourned the hearing of the case to May 17.
