Kamala Harris’ ex-boyfriend Montel Williams shuts down sex tape rumours

Just over a week before the upcoming election, a rumor about Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris and former talk show host Montel Williams began circulating on social media, with the potential to stir up controversy.

Controversial American right-wing influencer Matt Wallace took to X, claiming that a supposed sex tape involving Harris and Williams was being “shopped around” and could “break the internet.”

Williams and Harris briefly dated in the early 2000s.

In his tweet, Wallace suggested that the alleged tape could harm Harris’s campaign just days before the election.

He wrote: “Wow, I was just informed by my friend, who is the CEO of a large tech company, that there is allegedly a sex tape being shopped around involving Kamala Harris and Montel Williams.”

“This could break the internet and seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election.”

The tweet quickly gained traction, attracting millions of views and sparking debate online.

But Montel Williams, who rarely tackles the topic, wasted no time in responding to the rumors, delivering a calm yet pointed response that quickly set the record straight.

“Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” Williams tweeted.

He went on to state plainly: “Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape. Kamala Harris’s surge clearly has some people worried.”

Williams’s response not only dismissed the rumor but also suggested that Harris’ rising momentum in the polls may be causing concern among some critics.

Harris and Williams were once romantically linked in the early 2000s, but there’s no evidence of any video as Wallace claimed.

Back in 2019, when then-Senator Harris ran for president during the 2020 election, Williams gained similar attention as people and political opponents focused on Harris’ dating history.

“@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?” Williams tweeted in 2019 after the same pictures came to light during the Democratic presidential primary.

“I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”

This latest attempt to defame Harris by spreading rumors has drawn criticism from both sides of the political spectrum, with many condemning the baseless smear tactic.

In the high-stakes final days before the election, these claims seem designed to distract voters and damage Harris’s credibility. Americans go to the polls on November 5.
