Police in Kagadi is hunting for a 30-year-old man on allegations of brutally murdering his wife.
The suspect has been identified as Jackson Happy while the deceased is Rose Natulinda 24, both residents of Kamoroza village in Kyanaisoke sub county.
It is alleged that on Sunday night at around 11pm, the couple picked a quarrel over yet unknown reason and in the process, Happy hit the wife on the head using a blunt object.
Everlyne Nyamaizi, a neighbour of the couple explains that they heard Natulinda screaming for help and rushed to see what had happened to her. They found her lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Though they rushed her to Kagadi general hospital for medical attention, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Gilbert Byabakama, another resident explains that by the time they rushed to the couple’s home, the husband had already fled the area. He wants police to expedite investigations to ensure that the suspect is apprehended for justice to prevail.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident adding that the hunt for the suspect is on.
He has appealed to members of the public to cooperate with the police by availing vital information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
The deceased’s body has since been handed over to the relatives for burial after a postmortem was conducted. She succumbed due to bleeding following injuries inflicted on her )by the husband).
