Five suspects committed to the high court for Ndiga clan head trial
The trial of the six individuals accused of killing Ndiga Clan head, Lwomwa Daniel Bbosa, resumed today after being adjourned on October 3rd. The case had been delayed to allow the prosecution time to prepare necessary papers to commit the accused to the High Court for trial.
Among the accused are Tabula Luggya, the key suspect, alongside Noah Luggya, Harriet Nakiguli, Joseph Nakabale, and Ezra Mayanja. Milly Naluwenda, the Secretary to the Kisekwa Cultural Court of Buganda, was initially charged as well, but the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has since discontinued charges against her.
The five remaining defendants, all from one family, have now been formally committed to the High Court, where they will face trial for the alleged murder of the clan leader. The case has drawn significant attention due to its cultural implications and the involvement of members of the Buganda cultural court system.
