On 13th feb 2023 Several traders in Kiganda Zone, Kisenyi II Parish in Kampala Central Division lost billions of shillings in an early morning fire that gutted their stalls and stores.
By 7am, some of the affected traders were already at the scene of the incident but they couldn’t save anything since all their merchandise had been burnt to ashes.

In just a space of a week, Today at kisakye Nursery and Primary School in Rubaga division in Kampala fire has gutted a section of classes leaving parents and pupils in tears for loosing scholastic materials. No causality has been recorded at the school as all pupils and school staff were safely evacuated.
By time of release of this story the cause of the fire was not yet ascertained. Police together with the residents were at the scene putting out the flames.
Fires at schools have been a cause of concern for education officials in Uganda, where classrooms and dormitories are often crowded, and there’s usually no firefighting equipment in place. Officials have cited poor electrical connections as sparking blazes in some cases.
