5 Charged over Eng Bbosa’s Murder

The five suspects linked to the murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa have appeared before Mwanga II Magistrate’s Court.

The head of Buganda’s Ndiga clan was gunned down on February 25, 2024, at Kikandwa village, Lungujja-Rubaga Division, in Kampala District.

The suspects who, with malice aforethought, unlawfully caused the death of the victim include Lujja Noah, a 21-year-old mason of Kabanga village in Mpigi Town Council; Harriet Nakiguli Harriet, a 40-year-old peasant of Nkere zone in Kawempe division; and Joseph Nakabale, a 47-year-old painter of Gala village in Mpigi Town Council.

One of the suspects being led to court by counter terrorism forces

Others are Ezra Mayanja of Kiganda Zone in Kawempe Division and Milly Naluwenda, a 46-year-old secretary of the Kisekwa Court of Buganda and resident of Kitunzi Zone 7, Rubaga Division.

The accused were not allowed to take pleas as the murder charge is a capital offence only triable by the High Court.

The matter will return to court on April 11, 2024 for mention.

However, the lead suspect, Lujja Tabula, is still on the run.

“The hunt for the prime suspect and mastermind of the murder, Lujja Tabula, is still on, and the Shs 10 million offer has been extended for anyone with information leading to his arrest,” said police spokesperson Fred Enanga during a press conference in Kampala on Monday.

According to the police, Tabula reportedly fled to an island along Lake Victoria, and the hunt for him is still ongoing.
